Who goes to Barbados for Christmas? My parents, it seems. My little brother and I are staying - I requested very kindly that they bring him or me with them, whichever they preferred, but they did not grant my request. Unfortunately, it seems that the very bouncy 3rd year called Seth will also be staying over winter hols.

What's to be done around here during the winter? I have most of my gifts for people now - though not all - and a few of them have already been sent. I'm at a bit of a loss for how to entertain myself during the winter holidays. <s>Whatever I do, I am not taking Tolefson up on her offer to teach me to knit. I am not that desperate. I think.</s>

That potions essay did not bring a smile to my face or a song to my heart - I think I did well on it, but it took the greater part of an afternoon that, as one of the sunniest days this winter, would have been better spent practicing quidditch. Oh well, there's always winter hols for that.

I don't even know what to say to her anymore. Pregnant? Jesus Christ. I don't want it ot be over, but I'm damn sure not ready to be responsible for someone else's child. And what if we ended up working out? She's 16, I'm 16, if she keeps it, that kid will be graduating hogwarts when I'm 34. I wasn't even really planning on getting married until around then. I don't know. I don't know anymore. I guess... I guess I'll have to play it by ear. I really like this girl. Like I haven't like anyone before. And I don't know what to do.

LAYER ONE
Name: Amos Diggory
Birthdate: 4/06/1960
Birthplace: My old House
Current Location: Someplace Unplottable in Scotland
Eye Color: brown
Hair Color: Sandy blonde, or so I’m told
Height: 5’9”
Righty or Lefty: Righty
Zodiac Sign: Aries ((Damn it! Potter should have been an Aries…))

LAYER TWO
Your heritage: British/French
The shoes you wore today: School shoes. Fun.
Your weakness: Quidditch, I should say.
Your fears: I have some issues with deep water.
Your perfect pizza: I’m so boring, but pepperoni.
Goal you'd like to achieve: Making Headboy, turning water into wine, regular teenage boy stuff.

LAYER THREE
Your most overused phrase: I really don't know. Hmmm.
Your thoughts first waking up: “Oh great, Smith’s in the shower.” He sings…
Your best physical feature: I dunno, they’re all okay. Eyes, I guess. Cop out answer.
Your most missed memory: It’s hardly a memory… but I guess my old house… it was a lot smaller, but my brother and I grew up there. And it had a lot of memories in it. Like there was this lake really close to the house we used to go swimming in, and I have some more memories that I’d go into if I didn’t feel like a girl for listing them.

LAYER FOUR
Pepsi or Coke: I guess Coke, I don’t know that I’ve had the other.
Chocolate or vanilla: Vanilla, but mostly because you can do more to it without it getting all weird.
Coffee or tea: Tea, generally. But coffee in the morning.

LAYER FIVE
Smoke: No
Cuss: A bit.
Sing: Not generally, though on the rare occasion I do sing, I hear I don’t suck.
Take a shower everyday: Definitely.
Have a crush(es): Not sure.
Do you think you've been in love: I don’t believe so, though I’m not really sure what ‘love’ is.
Want to go to college: No, that’s for muggles.
Like school: I do like school, yes.
Want to get married: I’d like to get married one day.
Believe in yourself: I think I can do most anything I set my mind to. Hufflepuff work ethic, don’t you know.
Get motion sickness: No.
Think you're attractive: I get told I am sometimes.
Get along with your parents: Sure.
Like thunderstorms: They’re okay. Nice for reading, but I prefer the sun.
Play an instrument: The bass guitar.

LAYER SIX: In the past month...
Drunk alcohol: A bit.
Smoked: No.
Done a drug: No.
Had Sex: No.
Made out: No.
Gone on a date: Not really.
Eaten sushi: No.
Been on stage: There's no stage at Hogwarts, at least as far as I can tell. So, no.
Been dumped: No.
Gone skating: Still waiting for the lake to cooperate.
Made homemade cookies: Do I look like a baker to you?
Gone skinny dipping: Not in the last month, no.
Dyed your hair: Never.
Stolen anything: No, I’m not big on stealing.

LAYER SEVEN: Ever...
Played a game that required removal of clothing: Don’t believe so.
Been trashed or extremely intoxicated: No, alcohol doesn’t do much to me.
Been caught "doing something": Has yet to happen.
Been called a tease: Yes?
Gotten beaten up: Not yet.
Shoplifted: No.
Changed who you were to fit in: No.

LAYER EIGHT
Age you hope to be married: Once I have my career in line.
Numbers and Names of Children: I rather like the name ‘Cedric’ for a boy. Just one or two.
Describe your dream wedding: The kind where you get married. I’m so picky.
How do you want to die: Painlessly?
Where you want to go to college: Muggle thing.
What do you want to be when you grow up: Hmm… a professional quidditch player, or some sort of beurocrat.
What country would you most like to visit: I suppose I’d like to visit Switzerland. I hear it’s quite nice there.

LAYER NINE: In a guy/girl...
Best eye color?: Not important. But I tend to like Brown and blue eyes.
Best hair color?: It doesn’t much matter as long as it looks nice on her. Brown usually.
Short or long hair: Long.
Height: Shorter than me, preferably.
Best weight: I don’t know… slim, sort of athletic. But it’s not important.
Best articles of clothing: <s>I have a weird thing for women in loose mens’ white button down shirts. By which I mean nothing but loose mens’ white button down shirts.</s>
Best first date location: Hogsmeade, when you’re in school.
Best first kiss location: Somewhere outside. Random, I know.

LAYER TEN
Number of drugs taken illegally: One. Didn’t realize what I was taking at the time
Number of people I could trust with my life: A moderately large number, though I wouldn’t make them.
Number of records I own: Quite a few. Muggleborn relatives get me into these things.
Number of piercings: Zero.
Number of times my name has appeared in the newspaper?: I don’t know.
Number of scars on my body: Shockingly, I’m not sure that I have any.
Number of things in my past that I regret: Not many.

So, she asks me to stop, which I do, and when I turn around to see if she's okay...she apoligizes and falls off the broom. Good thing I'm a seeker - I dove and caught her, but she proceded to feel very sick and dizzy for quite some time after. I brought her up to her dormitory and stayed with her until she fell asleep...she seems to be doing better now, but I don't know. Every time she tried to stand, she got dizzy and fell. <strike>I wonder what's wrong... and I wonder if it has anything to do with how many people warned me, jokingly or otherwise, to be careful with her...</strike>

Some Slytherin wants to get me drunk. The girl with dark hair - the one who drinks alot. You know the one. The Black. Think her name is Bellatrix. I'm sort of bad with names.

And Quidditch - I had to. You know I had to. - Our keeper is coming along...slowly but surely. He's a little slow on the uptake, if you know what I mean, but he's working with Smith, who used to be a keeper, so that should help, too. In any case, I'll get him there if it takes me all year.

In any case, See you all.

Well, well, now. I hear some very interesting things happened at the Masquerade Ball a bit ago. Judging from the rumors, I’m actually rather glad that I had a test to study for that night – sounds like someone beat up Severus Snape. To say the least, that was quite cruel and in bad taste. I thought it might have been a marauder, but shockingly, it was another Slytherin. I suppose they have some aggression issues to work through with the Gryffindor/Slytherin quidditch game so rapidly approaching.

On the subject of quidditch, the fact that no one takes the Hufflepuff team seriously is in desperate need of amending. Really, our problem is our keeper, who is a new recruit and doesn’t know very much yet. We’re trying to get him there, of course. But obviously, there’s a lot to be said for experience. Our next game isn’t for a bit, and we have plenty of time to really get it down. Everyone who didn’t think we were a threat will be eating his or her hat.

Oi vey, homework has made me miserably busy lately, but I did manage to bring my grade in Transfiration from a high “E” to a solid “O.” That one essay threw me off, but I think I’ve managed to get back on track pretty well. The new DADA teacher is mad…he got really angry at his reflection for ‘flipping him the bird’ or something…that’s not exactly the level of sanity I have come to expect from my teachers. Oh well, maybe he’ll prove to be good at what he does anyway. Who knows?

Well, either way, I am looking forward to a bit of rest, and a bit more time for Quidditch practices and friends. Sorry I’ve been neglecting you a bit, but you understand how school is. I’ll see you soon.

- Amos Diggory

His build is more thick in its musculature than lean, making him look a little bigger than he really is. He is usually seen wearing a smile composed of straight, bright white teeth. He has brown eyes, as his mother and father both did, and is sort of envious of his brother's blue eyes - the luck of the draw with recessive genes. He has a strong chin, though not obnoxiously so, and has a slightly larger than average nose. (PB'd by Benjamin McKenzie.)
Character's History:
Amos Diggory was born on April 4, 1960 to parents Joanne and Thomas Diggory. He is the oldest of two sons in a mostly pureblood family with some muggleborns and halfbloods mixed in on both sides, though none of his immediate relatives were non-wizards. His younger brother’s name is Seth, and he is a 3rd year this year. He and Amos get along…okay, but Amos finds Seth’s distractibility very bothersome. Since Amos is the hardworking older son, Seth can get away with being the younger, trouble-making spoiled brat. His relationship with his parents is excellent, though this is probably because he’s doing exactly what they would have wanted him to do with his life – working hard and getting a good, possibly soul sucking job that he’ll like anyway because he likes to be good at things. His family is a wealthy, upper middle class family who worked for their money rather than inherited it as many wizarding families did. They live in a nice home in Leeds near where his father, a general contractor for Wizarding Residential and Commercial developments, works.

Amos is a very hard worker and a talented seeker for the Hufflepuff quidditch team. He was a logical choice for a Hufflepuff prefect, of course, and was made one in his fifth year. He takes his job very seriously – some would argue that he takes it too seriously, though he does allow himself to have fun with his friends and slack off from time to time as long as it doesn’t hurt anyone.

His favorite quidditch team is the Chudley Canons, and he avidly supports them, sometimes going to games during the summers with his friends or his brother. He’s currently in his 6th year at Hogwarts.

Character's Personality:
He’s very popular in his own house, Hufflepuff, for being one of the few Hufflepuffs who brings them glory against such houses as Slytherin, a problematic house for hard-working Hufflepuffs who generally wouldn’t dream of using unfair means to meet their ends. He generally has a smile on his face, though often self-satisfied, and considers himself to be above most people, though not because of any such thing as blood status. He works hard, does well in school, and is very proud of it.

He doesn’t date much in spite of his popularity because girls distract from quidditch and school work, and his current frustration is the Hufflepuff quidditch team, which has been slacking off more than usual this year, and he full intends on whipping the lot of them into shape. He plays seeker on the team, and has very keen eyesight, so when the Hufflepuffs lose, it’s generally not his fault. The keeper’s a new recruit, and needs some serious work on his goal blocking, which Amos will tell anyone who insults his team around him. Despite his uptightness about school, he’s very jovial and friendly most of the time, having some friends in most houses. He’s not really big on the Slytherins because they cheat, and he has some resentment towards people who don’t work hard, because he thinks people without a work ethic are a drain on society. He generally keeps it to himself, however, to maintain the appearance of mellowness. He gets very harried around test times, mostly because he gets very down on himself when he misses a question he thinks he could have found in the book if he’d only studied a little bit harder.

Amos loves his family, and fully intends on having one of his own someday, though not until he’s got a successful career in the making. He tends to brag about grades, though he usually does it in a relatively unobvious way so as not to attract attention to it. He makes O’s and E’s, and his current aspiration is to either become a professional quidditch player or some sort of successful Bureaucrat.
